Anthony Rubinacci is a lifelong Vigo County resident and Republican candidate for Vigo County Council, District 2. Born and raised in West Terre Haute, Anthony grew up learning the value of hard work, service, and community from his family and neighbors. His interest in public service began at a young age, sparked by conversations about local government with his grandfather and a deep love for his hometown.
Today, Anthony works as a Field Representative for Congressman Mark Messmer, representing the Congressman across seven counties, including Vigo County. In this role, he meets with business owners, farmers, educators, local officials, and community leaders. Anthony helps constituents navigate federal agencies, brings mobile office hours to communities across the district, and ensures residents’ concerns are heard and addressed.
Anthony also staffs the Congressman in meetings, business tours, and discussions with local leaders, giving him a front-row seat to the challenges facing our communities — from economic development and infrastructure to education and workforce needs. He advocates for Vigo County residents, ensuring their voices are reflected in Washington.
Anthony was a member of the first cohort of the West Central Indiana Partnership’s Civic Engagement Series and is currently part of the 2026 Indiana Leadership Forum, continuing his commitment to learning, collaboration, and effective leadership.
Having previously run for Vigo County Commissioner, Anthony brings both experience and perspective to this race. He believes County Council should focus on fiscal responsibility, accountability, and making Vigo County a place where families, businesses, and future generations can thrive.
Anthony is running for Vigo County Council to be a practical, accessible voice for residents — someone who listens first, solves problems, and always puts Vigo County first.
